How somatic bodywork differs from traditional massage
Somatic bodywork is not only about working on muscles, but about listening to how the body holds tension. Instead of following a fixed technique or routine, sessions respond to sensation, breath, and subtle cues from the body. The intention is not to “fix” the body, but to create conditions in which tension can release naturally and regulation can return.

Traditional massage often focuses on mechanical pressure and muscle relief. Somatic work places awareness and nervous system response at the centre of the session, allowing deeper patterns of holding to shift over time.
